FROM THE FATHER’S PERSPECTIVE
STEFAN & LAUREN CRONJÉ
A NOTE FROM LAUREN
Well, this is me, but I have a little confession. The story of how Benjamin was born was written by Stefan, not me. We are one and so I decided to be kind and not put him on the front cover as the only man with eleven other women.
When I first started with the book, I already had a story to use as an example of what I believed God wanted in the way the stories were to be documented. Stefan so powerfully documented our story of how we longed for a natural birth, but through circumstances came to understand that the real promise was never a set delivery method, but our son, Benjamin. This story tells of God’s sovereignty and how He intervenes, because He sees the full picture.
A NOTE FROM LENKA
This image came to mind as God started to speak to me about my identity as His beloved child. He showed me my inheritance as a co-heir with Christ, His firstborn Son. He called me to enter boldly into this godly identity and inheritance, like a child holding nothing back. He created me, chose me, and is calling me to His glory. (1 Peter 2:9)
I felt that this illustration is a promise for Stefan and his family – that they are set apart and called for the glory of God. It is a declaration that he, and all that come after him, will know their true identity, their incorruptible inheritance in Jesus. (I later recalled that Stefan’s name literally means “crowned one”.)
