TRANSFORMED BY LOVE
A NOTE FROM LAUREN
Mathilda and I met at church one special morning after she had responded to an invitation to surrender her life to Jesus. As I prayed for her, I experienced the presence of God strongly – I knew she had a voice and it needed to be heard. She is twenty-one years old and comes from Tzaneen in Limpopo. She is currently studying marketing at Wits University.
Three months into the book, I found I couldn’t get her name out of my head. I initially thought not to include stories of being born again through a newfound relationship with Jesus. However, after she shared her journey with me, I realised there may be mothers out there who need to hear her story in order to carry on hoping and praying for daughters who may have similar challenges to the ones Mathilda faced in her walk.
A NOTE FROM LENKA
This illustration was inspired by words of life spoken in a valley of death. Dry bones were restored to life, and a hardened hard turned soft in the healing of its flesh. (Ezekiel 36:26; Ezekiel 37:1-14) It is a celebration of the resurrection life of Jesus, and the victory we have in Him.
Mathilda’s story is such a powerful testimony of the transformative power of the love of Jesus – to bring life from death, healing in brokenness, beauty from ashes (Isaiah 61:3).
